Acclaimed British graphic designer Tom Eckersley (1914-1997) is considered one of his country’s foremost poster artists. Eckersley was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 1948 for his services to poster design. He was also treasured as a leading design educator, having served as Head of Graphic Design at the London College of Printing from 1957 to 1977. Eckersley’s posters communicate powerfully through simple images and bold, flat colors.
