Jiri Oplatek trained as a graphic designer at Basel School of Design and cofounded studio Claudiabasel in 2003. He was inducted into the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) in 2018. Oplatek produced this poster for an exhibition celebrating 150 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Japan. For the exhibition, held at the Weltformat poster festival in Lucerne, both Swiss and Japanese graphic designers were invited to explore the meaning of the word “exchange” through the medium of the poster.
